The Collective makes a return on Saturday 28th January, playing from 9pm. Free entry.
This week’s guest Real Ales:
Wolf Brewery – Coyote: 4.3% abv. A full-bodied premium straw coloured ale. Complex but well balanced mix of hops and malt leads onto a crisp well hopped finale.
Potbelly Brewery – Pigs Do Fly: 4.4% abv. A Light and Golden Ale, it is a single hopped brew using Styrian Goldings, marking our 1st anniversary and as a special for Leicester Beer Festival!
Other news…
New seating being put in over the next weeks…and our smoking shelter is almost complete outside in the beer garden, with lights and heaters-hurrah!

Guest Real Ales
Greene King London Glory, Amber: 4% – Celebratory ale created by the master brewers of Greene King for the nation’s capital city. Centuries of expertise and craftsmanship have come together to produce this rich and fruity brew that combines crystal malt with Challenger and Golding hops.
Greene King Old Speckled Hen, Amber:4.7% – Has a full, smooth flavour and is very easy to drink. Its rich amber colour and superb fruity aromas are complemented by a delicious blend of malty tastes.
Belhaven St. Andrews Ale, Abv: 4.6% - This golf-inspired refreshing classic ale is available in cask as well as bottle.

Visit the Kings Head in Holt this weekend for a fantastic line of specials at STEAK, several new guest real aleas for you to try and our tasty new refreshing cocktails for summer!
Fish specials at STEAK this week:
- Calamari, whitebait and garlic prawns seafood salad with salad and bread.
- Whole mackerel with horseradish and lime salad, served with new potatoes.
- Whole plaice served with mediteranean cous cous and salad.
The line up of Guest Real Ales this week are:
- Once Bittern, from Woodfordes Brewery: the latest seasonal brew from the award-winning brewery, is a copper-coloured
ale with a distinctive aroma of rich spice and citrus fruit. Uniquely created from a special blend of high quality Norfolk ingredients, the beer has hints of sweet malt, fruit and warm spice with a dry finish. - Golden Pale Ale, 5.0% from Elmtree Brewery: A pale ale in the traditional style that is initially malty and delicately bittered. The long dry biscuit finish is enhanced by the subtle citrus aromas.
- Sundance, 4.1% from Greene King: This fine ale is brewed using pale malts and Fuggles hops to create a light, refreshing ale with floral and fruity aromas.

- The King Mojito: captain morgans, mint, lime & soda (glass – £3.95/jug – £12.95).

You don’t need to sit in the rain on Henman Hill to enjoy Wimbledon because at the Kings Head, we’re bringing Wimbledon to you! We’re showing all the televised matches so you can cheer on Murray from the comfort of the pub! And if you still don’t feel like you’re there, then we are serving Wimbledon favourites, Pimms & lemonade (served with mint, orange, strawberry, cucumber and apple) and strawberries and cream!

- Duke’s Cambridge, 4.2% ABV from Greene King: golden ale, has been launched by the Bury St Edmunds-based pubs and brewing group to mark the royal couple becoming the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
- Mary Jane, 3.5% ABV from Ickley Brewery: Made with high quantities of Amarillo hops, this pale crisp beer has refreshing citrus aromas and flavours. Gold medal winner at the SIBA Northern region beer competition 2009/10 and bronze medal winner at the SIBA national competition.
- CasKade, 4.2% ABV from Oldershaw Brewery: A pale golden beer, brewed with ‘Caskade’ hops and lightly bittered with a distinctive hoppy aroma.
- Straw Dog, 4.5% ABV from Wolf Brewery: Pale and refreshing, this clear wheat beer is brewed in the German style. Soft German hops added to the brew give a wonderful aroma and slightly sweet taste to leave the imbiber wanting more!
Third Base
This Friday(24th June) local band, Third Base, are playing in the pub! Starts at 9pm + free entry.

Steak and Ale: the perfect pair!
All Dads enjoying a steak at the Kings Head this Father’s Day (Sunday 19th June) will receive a free pint!
Enjoy STEAK in the new timber framed restaurant at the back of the Kings Head pub, with some quirky features, great aspect over looking the garden to the rear and featuring the noise and smell of the authentic charcoal grill where you can watch grill master, Adam Chapman, cooking some superb steaks.

As well as our classic real ales on tap this week (Adnams Bitter, Broadside and Woodforde’s Wherry), weekly guest ales available are:
- Broadland Sunrise, 4.2% from Humpty Dumpty Brewery: red-orange in colour and is brewed with additions of crystal malt and rye, giving it a complex malty flavour and a refreshing dry finish. The beer is hopped with a combination of English and North American hops, giving it a refined bitterness well balanced against the complexity of the malt bill.
- Side Pocket for a Toad, 3.6% from Tring Brewery: Unmistakable citrus notes from only the best Cascade hops balanced with a floral aroma and crisp dry finish make this straw coloured ale a fantastic session beer.
- Oak, 3.8% abv from Grain Brewery: This well balanced session beer uses Maris Otter pale ale malt to give a light amber colour, and fermented slowly to give a dry, moreish finish. Three year award winner at CAMRA Norwich Beer Festival

Eat in the stunning new steakhouse at the back of the pub and take in the mouth watering bbq aroma from the new open grill or order from the STEAK menu in the pub or outside in the beer garden. STEAK (seafood!) specials this week are:
- Pan fried salmon served with fresh asparagus crushed parsely new potatotes in a white wine, lemon and cream sauce.
- BBQ whole sea bass with fresh green salad and buttered new potatoes.
- Pan fried talapia served with red pepper mangetout and bok choi stir fry.
The Collective!
This Saturday (4th June) local band, The Collective, are playing in the pub for your listening pleasure. A slick and top class performance delivered by a band which includes bass, drums, guitar and horn section and is fronted by both male and female vocalists – not to be missed! With the Steak House now here, we thought we should introduce some remarkable new reds to complement our steaks and to deliver the ultimate experience. These include two from Rare Vineyards – one of which is smooth and velvety with blueberry and cherry notes (Pinot Noir) and the other with a lot more complexity and richness (Carignan). Also, we have decided to keep our Malbec as it proved massively popular on our last menu. We hope you enjoy our new selection.
Plans are now set for our new authentic charcoal grill to give dishes additional flavour and this incredible grill comes complete with a smoker, so expect some home-smoked treats very soon. The grill will sit between the new restaurant and our kitchen so you’ll be able to see your steak being cooked – hopefully to perfection!
